Karma

Karma comes of it’s own accord. One day, my friend called to say she’s been diagnosed with Hepatitis C, and possibly liver schlerosis and cancer. She didn’t want it, but it came. And it’s obviously possible in her chart with many planets in the sixth house. My chart shows obvious possibility of the things I’m into, and the things that happen to me that I’m not into.

We are forced to experience certain things both desirable and undesireable. We are forced to experience our minds. We have some willing capacity, but it resists the surrendering process, whereby we detach somewhat from identifying with our bodies, which are under such controls, and not our own.

We seek fulfilment through the body, but since it is a variable full of forced negative possibilities, we are frustrated. We should therefore seek fulfilment instead through our own internal processes of will, over which we do have control.

Will is that force which generates thoughts, and then actions. If we accept that life is a continual process, spanning many lives, and that actions, and therefore reactions, are all generated from our own will, and that things take time to unfold or manifest, we can then begin to accept the responsibility of willing correctly, in our own true interests. We will also understand why some people get more positive results in their lives than others.

Some people are born wealthy and healthy, and lead lives full of desireable material situations. Others are born poor and unhealthy, leading lives full of suffering. This is the result of their past willing and thereby their past actions.

To humbly accept that you are where you are is a good first step. To then utilize your will to move in a direction full of positive energy, or light, or enlightenment, or God’s service, whatever you wish to call it, is then the best use of life.

You are responsible for your willing, and that’s about all you are responsible for. Your actions grow out of this automatically, as do the reactions. You become a victim of negative actions and reactions when you excercise your will in a way which is not in accordance with the truth.

Being able to say no to your minds demands and senses, is a key part of this path. The opposite of this is to remain attached to fulfilling the minds demands and being determined to acquire the objects the senses desire at nearly any cost. Most people are here. They constantly meditate on the objects of their senses, and use their mind to maneuver in life in such a way so as to definitely achieve these aims. The rapist is the key example, as well as the exploitive con artist.

Most people are more subtle and restrained than the rapist and con artist, but nevertheless are engaged in a similar way, pursuing the minds demands. In this way, they are always frustrated and embittered, feeling they deserve more than they are getting. Thus they often do negative things to themselves and others in the process. This is the state of the world. A company which pollutes the Earth is caught here, and a person who smokes or drinks is caught here, and just about everybody is caught here. Therefore they do not know peace, because their view, and the reality, are at odds. This is why we are here in this world.

To give up the process of manipulation of the material energy and other people’s minds, is the hardest thing to do. To do it is called being Saintly. The most important characteristic of the Spiritually Advanced Person is that they no longer run from this truth of life, nor do they manipulate others for their own ends, nor do they feel frustrated, and not bitter either. Instead they feel grateful for what they have, and use everything they do have in positive ways. They are not subject to negative habits, and they make steady progress, as far as their given set of possibilities allows. They do not fear nor resent death or loss.
